App & data
Open Settings → App & data for install, backup and data-management actions.
Progressive Web App
Install Home Lab to your device. The button shows Install, Installed, or a hint to use the browser menu depending on support. See Install as an app (PWA).
Back up & restore
- Download backup - exports everything (pages, services, widgets, credentials/secrets, favourites and settings) to a
homelab-backup-YYYY-MM-DD.jsonfile. - Restore from backup - upload a backup file. After a confirmation it replaces all current data and reloads.
Backups contain secrets
A backup file includes your API keys, tokens and passwords in plaintext - that's required for a full restore. Keep the file somewhere safe and don't commit it to git.
Automatic backups
The server writes a backup daily and keeps the last 7. They're listed here with a date and size; each has:
- ⤓ Download - grab that day's backup as a file
- ↻ Restore - roll back to that day (with a confirm, then reload)
See Backups for retention and storage details.
Import from Homepage
Bring an existing Homepage config across - services, settings, widgets, bookmarks, Docker and Proxmox. See Import from Homepage.
Reset layout
Wipes all data and starts fresh. This is destructive and asks for confirmation first.
