Pages & groups
Home Lab organises everything into pages (the tabs in the sidebar) and groups (titled sections within a page). Service cards live inside groups.
Pages
A page is a tab in the left sidebar. There are two kinds:
- Service pages - hold groups of service cards.
- Bookmark pages - hold groups of bookmarks.
The built-in Dashboard page is special - it shows your favourites and a live health section. You can rename it and change its icon but you can't delete it or add card groups to it.
Adding a page
Click Add page at the bottom of the sidebar. Give it a name and an icon.
Editing a page
Click the pencil next to the page title (or edit it from Settings → Pages & groups). From the editor you can:
- Rename the page and change its icon
- Choose the layout - Grid or Columns
- Set the number of columns
- Add, rename, re-icon, reorder and delete groups
- Delete the whole page (not available for the Dashboard)
Page icons
Icons accept:
| Form | Example | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Built-in name | server, film, cloud | One of 70+ bundled icons |
sh-<name> | sh-jellyfin | A selfh.st icon |
si-<name> | si-portainer | A Simple Icons glyph |
si-<name>-#hex | si-traefikproxy-#24A1C1 | Simple Icons, tinted |
| URL | https://.../logo.png | Any image |
Reordering pages
Two ways:
- Drag a page up or down directly in the sidebar.
- Use the ▲ / ▼ arrows in Settings → Pages & groups.
The Dashboard can be moved too - it isn't pinned to the top.
Groups
Groups are titled sections inside a page. Each group has a name and an icon and holds a set of cards.
Managing groups
In the page editor:
- Add group appends a new empty group.
- Each group row has a name field, an icon field, ▲ / ▼ to reorder, and a trash button to delete it.
Moving cards between groups
On the page itself, drag a card and drop it onto another group - or onto a group's empty area - to move it there. Within a group, drag to reorder.
